Saltaire Yarns appeal for the homeless.

Saltaire Yarns opened in 2011 and is a great shop filled with wonderful wool, funky patterns and a warm welcoming service. You must all remember the winter we had last year-filled with snow and ice and temperatures in the minuses and this year could prove to be no different. Saltaire Yarns owner Elizabeth is appealing for knitted or shop bought hats, scarves and gloves for the homeless people. 'Nightstop' has been working with over 5,000 young people, providing them with beds for the night but still so many people sleep rough on the streets. A warm hat, scarf or set of gloves could prove to be a lifesaver for someone who finds themselves without a roof over their head.
This is one of the hats I have made-it's really easy to make and the doesn't cost a lot to make. If you have any old balls of wool then get knitting because it's for a great cause and your handiwork could really make a difference to one person this winter. All you have to do is knit one hat, scarf or set of gloves(you could do more if you feel like it) and send it into Saltaire Yarns-Google 'Saltaire Yarns' for the address. It really is important that we help the people who are less fortunate than us. So get knitting and send in. Take a look at the newspaper report below for some more information-http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/local/airelocal/9340985.Saltaire_firm_collecting_knitwear_to_help_homeless
